Professor Dr. Rosna Awang Hashim
is a senior professor of educational psychology and a principal fellow at IETLE (Institute of Excellence Teachers and Leaders in Education), School of Education, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, she has held esteemed positions including Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Dean of School of Education, Director of the University Teaching-Learning Centre (UTLC), and Founding Director of Institute of Child & Adolescent Educational Advancement (IKRAK) at UUM.
Her scholarly pursuits have centred on elucidating the intricacies of student engagement, adolescent motivation, college student development, and high impact educational practices in higher education. Notably, her latest research endeavours focus on pioneering initiatives such as the construction of a School Disengagement Warning Index and the development of a comprehensive higher education ecosystem framework aimed at fostering greater social civic engagement among students.
In Addition To Her Academic Pursuits
Professor Rosna actively engages in various leadership roles within the academic community. She serves as a member of the Board of Governance at Al Bukhary International University (AIU) and a fellow at the Academy of Professors Malaysia (APM). Furthermore, she demonstrates her commitment to academic excellence as Chair of the UUM Council of Professors and SULAM (Service Learning Malaysia- University for Society), under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE). Previously, she was the Head of the Education and Human Development Cluster of the Academy of Professors Malaysia (APM), Vice President of the Malaysian Psychometrics Association (MPA), Vice Chairperson of PenDAPaT (Malaysian Society for Higher Education Policy & Research Development), Secretary of the Education Cluster of the National Council of Professors (MPN), and Chair of the CAP T&L NHESP (Critical Agenda Project- Teaching & Learning, National Higher Education Strategic Plan), MOHE.
